Travel Around

Day 5 – Wednesday, May 31, 2006

After having breakfast today, we went back to the room to chill out. We spent the morning watching the final day for Katie Couric on NBC’s Today Show. After that, we went swimming, or rather Zachary did, although Rod and I got in as much as we could, but the water was freezing! Tyler read and spent some time by the pool. When we came in to have lunch, Tyler went out by the pool, because some teenage girls were out there. Zach has so much fun in the water. He was doing cannonballs in the six- and nine-foot sections.

Back in the room, Tyler, Zach and I had an impromptu pillow fight, which was a lot of fun. I love watching the boys laugh and have fun.

Our first and only venture out for the day was to find a Weinerschnitzel, which we did. We went to the walk-up window and Rodney and I both had Italian sausages with peppers and onions, and Tyler had a chicken sandwich. Zach said he didn’t think the joint was sanitary, so he wouldn’t get anything. He opted instead for KFC and had a wrap and mac and cheese.

Bringing our food to the room, we considered getting a pay-per-view movie, but Tyler was watching a basketball game, and then Zach and I fell asleep. I awoke later and sent Rod out to get snacks to get the taste of sausage out of my mouth. Zach snoozed for the rest of the night.

This day was a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle we’ve experienced since we’ve been here. It was also a time for the tension to ease, and we had a great time. It’s nice to know that we may have rough patches, but they’re very small in comparison to the good times.

Today, I received several phone calls on my phone, Loretta, Mom, Dad and Auga. Auga placed my Creative Memories order, since I was unable to without Internet access. Mom said her test went well, and Dad wanted to touch base since he was asleep earlier when Mom talked to me. Loretta was just checking in.

All in all, this was a good day when we could be away from home, but relaxed, just chillin’.
