Goodbye, LA…

Morning started at 4 a.m. California time. We were up and out of the room before 5:30, filled with gasoline, returned the car, got through security and settled in the terminal. I headed to finish getting some souvenirs at one of the shops, and we got breakfast at a McDonalds in the airport, and before we knew it, we were boarded on a 757 for the long flight home. We were able to sit next to each other, which was nice, and we were able to see and hear the movie – “The Last Holiday” – which was a very good one.

At Chicago, our flight left 45 minutes after we landed, and we had to sprint from one terminal to the other, but we made our flight – and a short one it was! Before we knew it, we were back home again, in Indiana…

Rodney and the boys keep telling me what a great time they had, and I’m so pleased by that! I’m so happy I could make them happy.

It was kinda sad to be here again, away from the fantasy we can live in California. But it was also nice to be in our own home. Real life isn’t about living in a fantasy world, but we can make our lives even better than those fantasies if we pursue our dreams. Which is a lesson California – the land of dreams – continues to teach me.

Until next time, LA…
